Continued from Part 3

Woke up to a beautiful morning, enjoying another great breakfast and view before packing up to finish the last portion of our trip.

Thanks for the shelter!

Reuniting with the Mojave Road, we set off to Soda Dry Lake. It was a big question on whether it would be cross-able after the previous days rain. No mud and a abundance of dust was all the confirmation we needed.

Adding to the pile

No mud. No problems. Across the Rasor OHV area, down Shaw Pass, and into the Mojave River Wash we went.

Afton Canyon is by far the most scenic and iconic portion of the modern day Mojave Road. We took the time to cruise through, stop at the railroad crossings and eat lunch until we caught a train passing through.

Out of Afton Canyon, we got back into the Mojave Wash and followed it to Manix Wash. Having to get back on the main highway with everyone else is a real bummer after spending a couple days all to yourself. Good thing is, although the primary trip was over, the group wasn’t done yet. Off to Slash X we went for a beer and plan some additional dirt miles.

We managed to squeeze a couple more hours out of the day, but regardless, towards the end you can feel the impending doom that the trip is about to end. We hit the I-15, said our goodbyes and started the journey home.

Until the next adventure!!!!!
